Brexit: end of the transition period for businesses
The transition period will end on 31 December 2020, so the United Kingdom will leave the European Union on 1 January 2021, regardless of the final agreement: concluded or not. From this date, the United Kingdom will be considered a third country and will no longer be subject to European regulations because it will have its own regulations. Cross-Channel transport formalities will have to change. Customs has developed a computer system allowing operators to automate trade.
O.E.A.: a status to facilitate cross-Channel trade
M&L has had the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) since 2016 to assist you in the various steps to take for the passage of Brexit. This status issued by the European Union Customs Code aims to secure the international supply chain and combat fraud and attacks.
