New port “Calais 2015” to open soon
The opening of the extension of the new Boulogne-Calais seaport is approaching with new prospects for economic development for the cross-Channel trade zone
Calais Port 2015: a project soon to be finalized
The extension of the port of Boulogne-Calais, called Calais 2015, will be completed in less than a year by the Société des Ports du Détroit*. Since 2003, the completion of the project has been eagerly awaited because the port is in first position in cross-Channel relations.
- The caissons of the new quays are completed
- The installation of the tie rods is 80% complete
- The embankment has begun
- The connection between the new and the old port will be completed soon
A new economic boom
The new port will increase ship rotations and provide more space for port logistics on the Opal Coast. It is a formidable tool for local, regional, national and European economic development.
